Dr. Arash Hakhamian has been voted as one of the best cosmetic and reconstructive dentists in America and was even voted as one of the top 40 dentists in the United States but his passion for dentistry exceeds simply being a great cosmetic dentist. In addition to his local volunteer work and philanthropy, Dr. Arash has also traveled to countries such as Vietnam where he performs 100% free dental work and surgeries on people who cannot afford it.
“Returning to Vietnam has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I have had the opportunity to do reconstructive surgery and dental implants for some of the most needy patients I have met.” The patients who were treated by Dr. Arash and his team travel for days and long distances in hopes of being accepted to be seen by him. Surgeries are unaffordable for many people living in Vietnam and through these programs they are able to receive thousands of dollars worth of treatment at no cost.
Dr. Arash states that “All of the materials, equipment, and instruments are paid for by the organization and we are so pleased to have some of the best surgeons in the world come together to not only serve these incredible patients but also learn from each other and share ideas and techniques.” He goes on to state “Volunteer opportunities for dentists are very difficult to find and very costly since the dentists have to pay out of their own pocket and also they lose their income for weeks since they are not working but the beautiful thing is that all of these dentists and surgeons are so passionate that they are willing to make these sacrifices to better the lives of others and I am so proud to work with them.”
