Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. ― Nelson Mandela
As early as the 1st-grade elementary school, Dr. Arash Hakhamian was featured in the local newspaper for his outstanding academic achievements and as the top student in his class. Having lived in different parts of the world throughout his childhood, Dr. Arash developed a great affinity to people of different backgrounds and cultures. With this in mind, Dr. Arash combined his education in Psychobiology at UCLA with a degree in Physical Anthropology. He graduated every type of honors possible from UCLA where he received a bachelor’s of Science with Latin honors, Departmental Honors, and College Honors with nearly a 4.0 GPA.
While at UCLA, Dr. Arash was the principle investigator leading an IRB approved research to discover how to improve the oral health of the homeless people in our communities. He not only completed the necessary medical and science background for dental/medical school but also completed extensive background in Linguistics, Cultural Sensitivity, and Archeology. This background in the studies and respect for different cultures and nationalities has enabled him to serve patients from all different backgrounds and communities while serving to respect and admire all his patients no matter where they come from.
Dr. Arash was immediately accepted to and received his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious and world-renowned USC School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors. He was the first student in the school’s history to unanimously receive the award for serving with great excellence “Persons with Disabilities” which included patients with medical and mental handicaps. During his studies at USC School of Dentistry, Dr. Arash had the honor and privilege of studying under the mentorship of Dr. Stanley Malamed (world leader in Emergency Medicine and Anesthesia), Dr. Pascal Magne (world leader in Bio-mimetics and aesthetic dentistry), Dr. Hessam Nowzari and Homa Zadeh (world-leading surgeons and Periodontists) and Dr. Glenn Clark (world-renowned figure in Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine) amongst others.
After his graduation from USC School of Dentistry, he was accepted to the renowned UCLA AEGD department and decided to go into private practice with his father who practiced in Beverly Hills for over a decade. It is a great pleasure for Dr. Arash to continue to expand his knowledge and education by attending continuing education courses around the work and learning new techniques and the most advanced technology to bring back to the United States and provide to his patients. He is one of few dentists around the world who currently works with stem cells and uses the patient’s own blood cells to help generate healing in the oral cavity.
